Privacy Policy

Last updated April 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Go Participate ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile apps, and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Who we are

Go Participate is a youth-sports team management platform operated by LetterB Global. Contact: privacy@goparticipate.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information — name, email, password, phone number when you register.
  • Family and player profiles — guardians and players you add, including names, dates of birth, gender, photos, jersey numbers, sport positions, social handles, sizing, and emergency contact info.
  • Documents — birth certificates, medical forms, or other files you upload to the family vault. These are encrypted in your browser before upload; we cannot read them without an explicit access grant from you.
  • Payments — when you pay through the Service, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your card or bank details directly. We store only the resulting transaction record (amount, status, processor identifiers).
  • Communications — messages you send through the Service to coaches, families, or league staff.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details.

Information from third parties

If you sign in with Google or another identity provider, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from that provider.

How we use information

  • To create and manage your account, families, and teams
  • To deliver messages, schedules, and reminders you've opted into
  • To process payments you initiate or that an organization requests of you
  • To verify rosters, ages, and required documents for league registration
  • To respond to your support inquiries
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To improve the Service
  • To comply with our legal obligations

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Many of our players are under 13. The Service is designed so that children's personal information is added by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. See our Children's Privacy Notice for details, including the parental rights to review, correct, or delete a child's data.

How we share information

We share personal information in these specific cases and no others:

  • With organizations and leagues you join. When a guardian accepts an invitation to join a team, that team's coaches and the parent organization can see player names, ages, jersey numbers, and contact info that the guardian has provided.
  • With service providers who run pieces of the Service for us — Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Telnyx (SMS), Anthropic (AI features when enabled), Hetzner and AWS (hosting). These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to provide their service.
  • With law enforcement when required by valid legal process.
  • In a business transfer — if the Service is acquired or merges with another organization, account information may be transferred subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information.

Mobile information and SMS data

We do not share your SMS data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, and consent information that you provide for text-message communications are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and they are not shared with our other service providers for any purpose other than the technically necessary delivery of each individual message via SMS aggregators (such as Telnyx or Twilio) and your mobile carrier.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS-related information collected for text messaging are used solely to deliver the team and organization messages you have consented to receive (practice reminders, schedule changes, payment requests from your team, account security codes, and similar operational messages). For the full SMS terms — including opt-in, opt-out, and frequency — see our SMS Terms.

Document vault

Documents you upload to the family vault (birth certificates, medical forms, etc.) are encrypted in your browser using a key derived from your account password. We store only the encrypted ciphertext. Without your password and recovery key, we cannot read the documents — and neither can a database breach. When you grant a league or organization access for verification, that grant is time-limited and revocable from your account.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction — view and edit your account, family, and player profiles inside the Service.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account by emailing privacy@goparticipate.com. Some records (payment receipts, league compliance decisions) may be retained as required by law.
  • Marketing preferences — opt out of marketing email via the unsubscribe link in any marketing message.
  • SMS messages — reply STOP to any text from us to opt out. See our SMS Terms.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, email privacy@goparticipate.com.

Data retention

We retain account and family information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion to complete in-flight transactions and meet legal obligations.

Security

We use AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest, TLS 1.2+ for data in transit, and access controls that limit our staff's ability to view personal information. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

Changes to this Policy

We will post the updated Policy here with a new "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we'll notify account holders by email.
